1.2 Why do you charge administrative fees?

TechSoup will charge an administrative fee for each donation request that we process. The fee covers the cost to administer the donation program. Fees ensure that TechSoup can continue to offer donated products as efficiently as possible, at the lowest possible cost.

While administrative fees vary, organizations usually save between 92 and 96 percent compared to typical retail prices.

1.4 Why did I receive an email about TechSoup from a non-TechSoup organization?

Members of the TechSoup Global Network provide support for TechSoup donation programs in your country. If you register for TechSoup or request product donations, you will receive email communications from the organization that supports donation programs in your country.

Eligibility

2.1 Who can request product donations?

Organizations can request donations if they are registered, validated, and eligible.

In order to participate in the TechSoup donation program, nonprofit organizations must register with TechSoup. Once your organization is registered, TechSoup will validate that your organization can receive donations.

To be validated by TechSoup, your organization must

  1. Be registered as a nonprofit or religious organization with the relevant government authorities;
  2. Operate on a nonprofit basis for the public benefit; and
  3. Where applicable, hold all necessary permissions to receive donations from abroad.

To request product donations, your organization must also meet the eligibility requirements of the donor partners that offer the products through TechSoup.

2.2 What is the difference between validated and eligible?

"Validated" means TechSoup has verified your organization's status and information.

"Eligible" means your organization also meets the donor partner's requirements for the program and products that it has requested.

Registration

3.1 I would like to request technology product donations. How do I begin?

You will need to register your organization with TechSoup.

Once you have registered and we have received your documentation, we will validate your organization's status.

If your organization meets the required eligibility criteria for at least one of our donor partners, we will send an email confirmation to your organization's registered email address.

If your organization does not meet the required eligibility criteria for at least one of our donor partners, we will send an email notification to your organization's registered email address.

Requests for Technology Product Donations

4.1 How do I request technology product donations?

You can request product donations if

  • Your organization has registered with TechSoup, and
  • TechSoup has confirmed that your organization meets the eligibility criteria for at least one of our donor partners.

Log in to your account on TechSoup.Global.

Visit the Product Catalog to see which donated technology products are available.

Once you have decided that you would like to request a product, click Add to cart. Once you have finished selection of your items, you can proceed to check-out.

TechSoup will automatically check that your organization meets the eligibility requirements for the products in your cart.

You will be provided with a summary of your donation request before payment.

After you complete the transaction, you will receive an order confirmation by email. Western Union processes all payments for TechSoup donation requests.

4.2 How many product donations can I request?

Each TechSoup donation program has different rules for order quantities. Please review the specific rules about order quantities for that donor partner before you request donated products.

Each TechSoup donation program has different rules on how often you may request product donations. Please review the specific rules for that donor partner before you request donated products.

4.4 How do I pay the administrative fee for my product donation request?

Western Union processes all payments for TechSoup donation requests. You will receive additional information during the check-out process and via email to help you complete payment.

Order Status

5.1 What should I do if I have a question about the status of my donation request?

If you need to check the status of your request, please log in and click My Account. Order details are listed under My Requests.

Cancellations, Refunds, and Returns

6.1 What should I do if I want to cancel my product donation request?

Please use the Contact Us form. Include this information:

  • Your organization's name
  • Your organization's legal identifier, such as its tax identification number or charity identification number
  • The order confirmation number
  • The reason for cancellation

6.2 What should I do if I want to return my product donation?

Only some of our donor partners allow returns. Please review the specific rules for that donor partner. If they do allow returns, please use the Contact Us form. Include this information:

  • Your organization's name
  • Your organization's legal identifier, such as its tax identification number or charity identification number
  • The order confirmation number
  • The reason for the return

Account Access and Management

7.1 How can I update my member profile?

To modify information in your member profile, follow these steps.

  1. Log in with your email address and password.
  2. Click on My Account at the top of the page.
  3. Under My Account, click on My Profile.
  4. Click Edit My Profile to make changes.
  5. Save your changes.

7.2 How can I update my organization's information?

If you need to change your organization's name, mailing address, budget, or other information, please use the Contact Us form. Include the information that is listed below:

  • Your organization's name
  • Your organization's legal identifier, such as its tax identification number or charity identification number
  • List of changes to your organization's information that you want to request

7.3 What do I do if I forget my username or password?

Go to the Request New Password page. You will be asked to enter (type in) your registered email address. A new password will be emailed to you. If you do not know any of these details, please contact us via the Contact Us page.
